You should definitely watch Z. And parts of/the entirety of Kai later if you want, as a mere curiosity. You cannot just reduce everything to "better pacing" and then choose Kai solely because of it, as there's a lot of artistic stuff (OST, scene montage, scene placement) Kai just doesn't do right. The OST implementation is far far worse, and lots of scenes which were made to induce tension in the viewer just do not produce that effect. What's more, plenty of "filler" episodes that help explain the cultural landscape that made DBZ the phenomenon it was back in the 90s (no kid distinguished "canon" from "filler" back then) You'll be self-sabotaging by watching Kai. Don't let biased anime fans who are already suffering from the nausea and anxiety of their never ending backlogs (and thus lacking the natural patience to watch a series properly) convince you otherwise.

Ok if its 4 supreme kais and a grand supreme kai, why is there only 1 god of destruction.? Why is he only paired to 1 kai? Do the other universe have grand supreme kais and 3 other kais? Was elder kai paired with beerus at a point? Are there baby kais and angels?

I’ve watched all of the dragon ball stuff. My dad raised me on it. I wanted to rewatch it recently but I couldn’t find a way to watch DBZ again so I am watching DBZ Kai

If supreme Kai and Destroyers are linked I wonder if the grand Kai is somehow linked or connected in some way to the angels. Also find it weird that Beerus is only linked to the East Supreme Kai but not the others ? Or is he connected to all sectors

You should have mentioned two more angels, that are canonical and add more layers to the overall hierarchy. There is Merus, apparently one of the strongest beings in the entire universe, while still an angel in training. And there is also Angel Zero, who is suspected to be the single most powerful angel in the universe, even far more powerful than the Grand Minister, however exiled.

I remember loving the original so much more than Dragon Ball z. Outside the US we didn't get Z first and "my" Dragon Ball was always the OG serie. But I was so young I'm scared it's gonna be annoying to watch now.

Trunks not only cutting Frieza in half but also cutting him up into pieces and the blasting those pieces into smithereens is what made him my favorite character because it showed he took no chances when it came to villains, he made sure there was no way for Frieza to be patched back up (even tho Ressurection F found a BS way around it to bring him back)

I wanted my kids to watch the original dbz that I grew up with and not the Kai version. But they don’t stream the original dbz on anything!

My problem with Ultimate form is that it's supposed to tap into Gohan's potential, while SuperSaiyan is a racial ability that gives a flat increase irrespective of any latent potential. Why Ssj would even conflict with Ultimate form makes no sense; Gohan's potential was historically tapped through rage boosts, and Ssj2 was achieved through his power increase not unlocking his potential.

Grand Kai is the ONE guy I'd love to have seen brought back for Super. Such a shame

I got a question. Zamasu switched bodies with goku in the main timeline. How is goku still alive then??? Also if he got erased and never killed gowasu how did he time travel??? In so confused.

Bardoks origin from Z was great, he showed he had compassion. There was no need for a retcon. The world Bardok lived in was all fighting and death. Thats all he knew yet he still had compassion for his Comrades, then he sacrificed himself for the greater good in the end. We didnt need a goodie 2 shoes version.

I just recently watched dragonball and dragonball gt for the first time. I absolutely loved og dragonball. Gt was ok. I grew up with z and watched super a couple years ago. So coming back and see the origins was pretty cool

Z. Its more heart felt and emotional feels. Thats what Db in general is supposed to be about. Others that compare are One Piece and My Hero Academia for example. These heart felt shows are on top for a reason, and its cause it has the ability to make grown men cry

I believe there is a being higher than the Omni King, which only the Grand Priest and the Omni King know who it might be, as somehow it was possible to grab a Zen-O from another timeline and bring him to the present time-line just says the Omni-King isn't the top dog. I think it's the Creator of all things, which created all timelines, dimensions, all universe's and such. It also created the angels and the attendances to watch over its child/children, which is Zen-O as is considered the strongest being obviously. The Creator is Tobirama 😁
